Firstly one needs to understand the difference between consciousness and awareness of consciousness.
The true consciousness is the One Mind, which has no qualities but its own existence, it contains no information, is limitless and has no dimensions.
Self-awareness is formed when the Potential of this Nothing "streches forth and conquers" and is reflected back from the mirror of Ego.
Since the One Mind holds no form, the Ego now becomes the shadow self, feeding on itself.
